So not much activity in this blog. In the pictures I sent there
are some from the ride home through the Rockies, along the
Icefield Parkway, and the David Thompson Highway. Some
of those mountains would be a good challenge....

Welcome aboard Jon
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about that too... challenge is finding the ones your able to scramble.... but i guess abbott ridge was proof enough that we do not exactly need a true "peak"
other suggestions have been for the coastal mountains.... or Cathedral.... although far from you... close to Morty...
I have always wanted to get into those rockies though!
Where is cathedral? I probably won't be in Alberta by then anyway.
ReplyDeleteNot sure where I'll be, so don't
plan around that.
Cathedral Provincial Park is South of Keromeos... it actually stratles the border to the states... Damn near connects to manning park i think...
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go there.... but it has some challenges.... quite a hike into the basin........ there is a road, but some stupid lodge has the only moterized vehicles allowed on it.... witch is quite a nice drive in I assume... but a long hike i think..... other than that i think once your in it, everything is within our reach... obviously the 4X4 truck rides cost money... We could probily find something else that will have its own charm and less money.. but then again I am cheap
What is that Black tusk you were telling us about?
If we can 4X4 into Cathedral it would be ok, if we have a long hike in before a long hike up, I think us old guys would complain about that. I like the 4X4 part though, sounds like fun. Black Tusk is up by Squamish, close for morty. Here's a link:

You have to pay them to 4X4 us in.... i maid a typo but i will through it back in 4X4 = $X$
ReplyDeleteI will look into the price... but i think it was 80 to 100... i am assuming thats not one way! LOL
Thanks i will check out the link
