so I talked to my buddies who have been there.... according to them going for Peters lake with full packs would be ambitious.... some quick facts: Trail head to Spectrum Lk is 6 Km Spectrum to Little Peters 4 Km little Peters to Big Peters 2 KM
Originaly I had thought we needed to get to peters lake to make more possible final goals... perhaps not though... a shorter haul in msy be just what we need.. you guys check a little out and throw some feed back on me... the pdf link above is a map with some destinations and distances on it...
12 KM doesn't seem overly ambitious, theres a ton of elevation change between spectrum and little, looks pretty flat the rest of the way. I found a route last year that we could drive a good ways up the back, but theres no current info on whether its still accessible. We can camp at Spectrum, Little and Big Peters, so we could just go and see how far we get
I just checked my map from last year of the route up to margie lake and as much as I would love to try it, we could easily burn a day driving around up there and not get through. It looks good on google, but that doesn't mean it is. Plus we would probably need gps to stay on track, so it's probably not a good idea, but I'm game to try it if you guys are
